We guide those holding crypto assets who want to bring them into Paraguay legally and well documented, taking advantage of the country's territorial tax regime without compliance risk. Paraguay doesn't recognize cryptocurrency as legal tender, but that doesn't prevent its use, as long as the conversion and the origin of funds are properly recorded.

Since March 2026, DNIT General Resolution No. 47/26 requires exchanges to report transactions above $5,000 a year, including buying, selling, converting between crypto assets, and transfers between personal wallets. Capital gains on genuinely foreign-source crypto assets remain at a 0% rate under the territorial tax system, but the safest way to preserve that treatment is to convert the crypto asset into fiat currency on an international exchange before bringing the funds into Paraguay, with all origin documentation organized. We handle this guidance step by step, including registering as a virtual asset service provider (VASP) with SEPRELAD when applicable.
